Solar + Battery Energy System for Construction Materials Leader with Rising Utility Costs

The Problem

A national construction materials company was battling steep utility rate increases across multiple sites. One high-demand facility in particular faced mounting electricity costs just as production was ramping up. With cost control essential to maintaining margins, the company needed a solution that would reduce dependency on the grid and protect against future volatility.

Our Solution

Agilitech designed and implemented a 1.47 MW fixed-tilt ground mount solar array integrated with 588 kWh of battery storage. The system was engineered to maximize solar generation and discharge stored energy during peak utility rate periods, effectively lowering costly demand and energy charges. The battery charges exclusively from solar, enhancing return on investment without requiring operational load shifting. This design delivered savings while minimizing disruption to ongoing facility operations.

The Results

The facility achieved a 65% reduction in energy costs, stabilized power expenses, and gained new flexibility in energy management. The battery storage system allows the client to shift loads and hedge against peak demand charges—adding up to a long-term strategic advantage in energy resilience and cost control.
