Utility-Scale Solar Design & Install for Nut Processing Client with Limited Developable Land
The Problem
For this almond processing facility, energy represented thes ingle highest input cost, measured down to the penny per pound. To stay competitive in a tight-margin market, the company needed a bold energy strategy—one that didn’t require buying or leasing additional land and could significantly lower long-term production costs.
Our Solution
Agilitech proposed a solution hidden in plain sight: a decommissioned water basin that had sat idle on the property. We engineered a plan to reclaim the land by backfilling with 30,000 cubic yards of soil, then designed and installed a 1.1 MW fixed-tilt ground mount solar systemo n the restored area. This approach minimized development time and maximized ROI using space that had no prior operational value.
The Results
The new system offsets 62% of the facility’s energy use, transforming a once-useless plot into a high-value energy asset. With solar now driving the majority of the site’s operations, Famoso Nut has dramatically lowered its cost per pound and secured a powerful position in a cost-sensitive market.

Running out of land doesn’t mean running out of options. If space is limited but your energy costs are high, we’ll help you reclaim what’s possible with engineered solar solutions built for real-world constraints.
Let Agilitech turn underused land into a high-performing asset.
